Standard & High-Torque Servo Motor Series

This series of servo motors covers the full spectrum of DIY motion control, from lightweight hobby projects to high-torque robotics. Whether you need the precision of the micro SG90 for a small camera gimbal or the raw power of the metal-geared MG996R for a robotic arm, these servos provide reliable 180-degree rotation (typically) and are compatible with standard PWM signals from Arduino, ESP32, and RC receivers.

Product Options & Specifications

Model Gear Type Stall Torque (4.8V) Weight Best For
SG90 Plastic 1.2 kg-cm 9g Lightweight aircraft, basic tutorials
MG90S Metal 1.8 kg-cm 13.4g Small RC cars, micro robotic grippers
MG995 Metal 8.5 kg-cm 55g Large scale RC, heavy-duty automation
MG996R Metal 9.4 kg-cm 55g High-torque robotic arms, steering

Common Features

  • Universal Compatibility: Standard 3-pin connector (GND, VCC, Signal) works with all major microcontrollers.
  • Complete Hardware Kit: Each servo includes a variety of "horns" (arms) and mounting screws for different mechanical setups.
  • Wide Voltage Range: Most models operate efficiently between 4.8V and 6.6V.
  • 180° Range: Provides precise angular control (usually 0 to 180 degrees) via Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).

Technical Specifications

  • Operating Speed: 0.1s/60° to 0.17s/60° (Model dependent)
  • Dead Band Width: 1µs - 5µs
  • Connector Wire Length: 150mm (Micro) / 300mm (Standard)
  • Spline Count: 21T (Micro) / 25T (Standard)

Pro-Tip for High-Torque Models

When using the MG995 or MG996R, we strongly recommend using an external 5V-6V power supply rather than powering directly from an Arduino's 5V pin. These motors can draw over 1A under load, which may cause your microcontroller to reset or sustain damage.
